Rosalva Zimmerman

Rosalva Zimmerman works for the Arizona Department of Economic Security in the Office of the Director as the Southern Region Community Engagement Liaison.  As such, she is the DES Director’s representative for the southern and eastern counties of Arizona. She has split her career between public service and the world of non-profit social service organizations. Her work in social services includes foster care licensing and independent living skills, as well as community outreach, youth development, and regional program management of family resource centers. Her experience in public service ranges from positions in public safety to public health management and community engagement. She is a Certified Public Manager through the Arizona State University School of Public Affairs in the College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Rosalva and her husband, John, have one son, Andrew, who serves as a wildland firefighter with the Black Mesa Hotshots on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Rosalva enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and serving as a volunteer Victims’ Services Crisis Advocate with the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

We will champion firefighter safety through independent investigations, education, and real life support for firefighters, families, and the fire community.
